WWE SmackDown Sept 15: Knight-Miz 2, John Cena on Waller Effect
WWE has announced a rematch for Payback and a segment for John Cena for WWE SmackDown September 15, 2023 episode.
LA Knight and The Miz will clash once again on SmackDown next week. After their rivalry over the last month, Knight and Miz clashed in a match at Payback 2023 PLE where Knight came out on the victorious side. John Cena was added as the special guest referee at the last minute.
The Miz blamed Cena for his loss at Payback in a segment on RAW this week(September 4). Knight responded to it by issuing a challenge for a rematch on SmackDown episode this week(September 8). Later, Knight got the match made official by Adam Pearce backstage for SmackDown next week.

John Cena is set to feature in the Grayson Waller Effect segment on SmackDown September 15 episode. Cena earlier had an interaction with Grayson Waller at Money in the Bank after Waller interrupted his promo. Cena ended up hitting him with Attitude Adjustment after some trash talk between them.
It remains to be seen if Austin Theory will also be involved in the segment in some way. Theory retained United States title over Cena at WrestleMania 39. Theory and Waller are seen together consistently since Theory lost the title last month. There are rumors about LA Knight & Cena vs Waller & Theory tag team match taking place in the coming weeks.
September 15, 2023 episode of WWE Smackdown is set to air from Ball Arena in Denver, CO. The line-up for the show for now is as follows:
