WWE Backlash 2023: US Title Triple Threat, Rollins vs Omos Set
WWE United States Championship match and a marquee singles match are set for WWE Backlash 2023 event.
A triple-threat match will see United States Championship on the line between Austin Theory, Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley. The triple threat match was setup earlier this week on RAW where Bronson Reed interrupted Theory vs Lashley singles match. Reed and Lashley fought to a double count out last week on RAW on April 10 episode.
This will not be the first time Lashley and Theory will clash during Theory’s current title reign. Theory won the titles from Seth Rollins in a triple threat match at Survivor Series 2022 with Lashley involved in the match. He successfully defended the title against Lashley on RAW 30th Anniversary episode earlier in January this year.
Seth Rollins will face Omos in a first-time-ever singles match. There is not much of a backstory for this match though. Rollins beat Logan Paul at WrestleMania 39 on night 1 while Omos lost to Brock Lesnar the next day.
WWE.com wrote in their preview that, “Rollins will need the full support of his choir in Puerto Rico if he looks to quell the rise of the unstoppable Nigerian Giant.”
WWE Backlash 2023 is set to take place on May 6, 2023, in San Jaun, Puerto Rico. The card will also feature another blockbuster clash in Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar. The Usos and Solo Sikoa will face Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Matt Riddle.
