Claudio Castagnoli will clash in a one-on-one match with Josh Barnett at AEW WrestleDream 2023 PPV event at the zero hour.

During the September 30 episode of AEW Collison, In a video package, Claudio Castagnoli issued an open challenge for AEW WrestleDream. This challenge was met with a response from Josh Barnett.

This upcoming match will be Claudio’s first singles match since he dropped ROH World Title to Eddie Kingston at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.

The bout will mark Barnett’s debut match in AEW. Barnett is a former MMA fighter and UFC Champion who has been active with some independent wrestling promotions since his retirement from MMA.

AEW WrestleDream will pay tribute to Antonio Inoki, renowned for his pioneering efforts in blending MMA and professional wrestling – a legacy that continues to influence the industry.

Josh Barnett’s most recent match took place at the Custom Rules on INOKI BOM-BA-YE x Ganryujima event, where he secured a victory by KO against Shoma Shibisai. This upcoming AEW match in 2023 will be his first of this year, and he enters it on a two-fight winning streak.

AEW WrestleDream 2023 PPV event is scheduled for October 1, 2023, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA. AEW Trios Title bout is also set for the event where The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn will face TMDK.
