Becky Lynch retained NXT Women’s Championship in the main event of NXT No Mercy 2023 PLE event by defeating Tiffany Stratton.

Becky Lynch wore special attire for the match featuring a white shirt adorned with the names of her husband Seth Rollins, and their daughter Roux, and late Bray Wyatt. The match kicked off as Lynch made her entrance, immediately launching a vicious assault on Stratton by wielding a Kendo Stick, a Steel Chair, a dustbin can, and even a helmet.

Both the women were fully taking advantage of the Extreme Rules match by using weapons to brutally trash each other. The moment of the match was when Stratton set up the table, but Becky was nowhere to be found. As it turned out, Becky was under the ring and surprised her opponent by spraying her face with a fire hydrant.

Although, Tiffany was quick to counter her with a handspring elbow to put her through the barricade. She also hit a Swanton bomb with Becky on the table. In the end of the match, Lynch managed to dodges the Prettiest Moonsault Ever and hit a Manhandle Slam to get the pinfall.

This marks the first time since WrestleMania 37 that a women’s match has headlined a WWE Premium Live Event. The feud between Lynch and Stratton commenced when Stratton accidentally referred to Becky Lynch as the former NXT Women’s Champion in one of her promos on NXT.

Stratton also crossed paths with Lynch backstage at Payback 2023 PLE, shortly after Lynch’s victory over Trish Stratus. Then, on the September 5th episode of NXT, Becky made a video appearance to announce the upcoming title match against Stratton.

On the September 12th episode, Becky took the NXT Women’s Champion title away from Tiffany. Subsequently, during the September 19th episode of NXT, Stratton issued a challenge to Lynch for the No Mercy event. After Tiffany attacked Becky with a chair on the same episode, Becky turned the match into an Extreme Rules match.

Becky Lynch won’t have any time to rest, as she is set to defend her title once more on the October 2 episode of RAW, this time against Tegan Nox.
