WWE SummerSlam 2023 Highest Grossing PLE Outside WrestleMania
WWE’s impressive streak of delivering outstanding premium live events persisted with the success of SummerSlam 2023 event.
During the post-show press conference after the SummerSlam PLE, “The Game” Triple H mentioned SummerSlam’s triumph and the ongoing achievements WWE is attaining every month.
Triple H said that SummerSlam achieved tremendous success, becoming the top-grossing event in the show’s history and also securing the highest-grossing position among non-WrestleMania Pay-Per-View and Premium Live Events.
The SummerSlam 2023 event was broadcast live from Detroit, MI, with 59124 fans attending the show at Ford Field. Attendance is a record for any event at the venue outside of music concerts.
In the main event, Roman Reigns successfully retained Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Jey Uso. Rollins also retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor, but the moment of the event was when Iyo Sky successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank Contract to win the WWE Women’s Championship.
The next event for WWE is also set to be Payback 2023, which is scheduled for September 2, 2023, and it will be live from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The success of Summerslam continues WWE’s record-breaking streak with every PLE creating more revenue in the particular series. WWE also announced record $410 million revenue for the first quarter.
