Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor Official for WWE SummerSlam 2023
Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at the WWE SummerSlam 2023 PLE.
During the July 17 episode of RAW, Seth Rollins was interviewed backstage with Bryson Saxton in a room. Rollins was mentioning his plans for SummerSlam when Finn Balor made his appearance and mentioned he needed a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship at the SummerSlam PLE event.
In the end, before leaving, Balor attacked Rollins with a chair and again mentioned accepting the title match for the Summerslam PLE event. Later on, the bout was officially announced by WWE.

Rollins hit back at Balor before the main event match at RAW this week, which saw Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio challenge for WWE Tag Team Championship. Rollins and Balor brawled to the back and were not seen after that.
Seth Rollins has defeated Finn Balor twice already this year. He won the World Heavyweight Championship tournament semifinal against Balor before successfully defending the title at the Money in the Bank PPV 2023 event.
The rivalry stemmed from Balor’s vengeful feelings towards Rollins due to Rollins injuring him during the inaugural WWE Universal Championship tournament final at Summerslam 2016. Balor won the title by beating Rollins, but suffered a torn labrum injury, which forced him to relinquish the title the very next day.
Rollins became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions event and has been champion for 50+ days now. He has defended this title six times during this time, including defenses against Finn Balor, Damian and Bron Breakker.
WWE SummerSlam 2023 is scheduled for August 5 in Detroit, MI. One more match is officially announced for the event between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes.
