Edge Defeats Sheamus on SmackDown, Says It Was Last Match in Toronto

In their first-ever showdown, Edge triumphs over Sheamus in their match on August 18 episode of SmackDown.

During the August 18 episode of SmackDown, Edge was scheduled for a match against Sheamus which will be his last match before his current WWE expires. The match took place in Edge’s hometown of Toronto.

Throughout the entire match, both Sheamus and Edge showcased their best fighting skills. The two legends display exactly why they are at the pinnacle of the industry. During the match, Edge’s children and his wife, Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, were also present at ringside.

At the end of the match, Edge reversed Sheamus’ Brogue Kick and executed a powerful spear to secure his victory. After the match, the show concluded with Edge sharing a hug with Sheamus and celebrating his victory alongside his family.

After the show went off the air, Edge addressed the Toronto audience. Edge mentioned that this would be his last time wrestling in Toronto. He did not explicitly say that he is retiring altogether.

During the show, John Cena, Kurt Angle, Charlotte Flair, Rey Mysterio, and many more superstars congratulated Edge on his 25th anniversary via video segments.
