WWE SmackDown June 23: Bayley vs Shotzi & Grimes vs Corbin Announced
WWE has announced two more matches for June 23, 2023 episode of WWE SmackDown in Cameron Grimes vs Baron Corbin, and Bayley vs Shotzi matches.
During the 16 June episode of SmackDown, a backstage interview with Cameron Grimes took an unexpected turn when Baron Corbin attacked him from behind. WWE later announced a rematch between them for the next week’s episode of SmackDown.
Grimes and Corbin’s rivalry started when Corbin interrupted Grimes’ session with Adam Pearce. Grimes then defeated Corbin in his debut match on SmackDown in seconds. Corbin later attacked Grimes from behind in frustration. Grimes replied with a similar attack the following week.

Corbin is also involved on NXT from the past few weeks and is ready to challenge for NXT Championship on Night 2 of NXT Gold Rush on June 27.
During this week’s WWE SmackDown, Iyo Sky was defeated by Zelina Vega because of another miscommunication when Bayley tried to interfere to help out Iyo. In a backstage segment, Sky confronted Bayley about costing her the match. Shotzi came in and talked to ruffle more feathers and brought up that it was Bayley’s interruption that cost her a place in Money in the Bank ladder match.
Shotzi challenged Bayley for her spot in the Money in the Bank match. Sky accepted the match on Bayley’s behalf as a form of revenge for Bayley’s actions. WWE is brewing this tension between Iyo and Bayley in the aftermath of WrestleMania 39 which could lead to breaking up their tag team and spark a new feud.
