WWE SmackDown August 11, 2023, Preview & Match Card

WWE SmackDown episode of August 11, 2023, will feature the fallout of SummerSlam 2023, along with the United States Title match and the build-up for Payback 2023.

Austin Theory will put his US Title on the line against Santos Escobar. Jimmy Uso will appear and acknowledge the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Jimmy Uso to Hail the Tribal Chief

Jimmy Uso is set to appear this Friday on SmackDown in a segment with Roman Reigns where he will acknowledge The Tribal Chief. It is expected that he would explain why he betrayed his twin brother Jey Uso at SummerSlam and cost him the match against Roman Reigns. Will Jimmy join the Bloodline again? Will Roman accept Jimmy again? 

Austin Theory vs Santos Escobar

Santos Escobar earned the US Title opportunity by defeating Rey Mysterio in the final of United States Championship Invitational tournament. Escobar & Theory also participated in the Slim Jim Battle Royal where Escobar was the one to eliminate Theory. Both of them had attacked each other after their respective matches in the last week. Will Escobar be able to bring the US title to LWO and end Theory’s 9 months long title reign? 

Karrion Kross vs AJ Styles

Karrion Kross has been on a mission to destroy the OC ever since AJ Styles defeated him on the May 26 episode of SmackDown. More singles match and mixed tag team match have followed since. Kross dominated Karl Anderson in a singles match last week on SmackDown. AJ confronted Kross the same night which set up a singles match between them for this Friday. Will Kross finally get his revenge?

New Women’s Champion

Iyo Sky grabbed the opportunity and cashed in her MITB briefcase against Bianca Belair at SummerSlam 2023 event to become WWE Women’s Champion. Bianca just came out of a hard-fought win over Asuka and Charlotte Flair to win the title back. But, Iyo was able to capitalize on Bianca’s injured knee to get the win. How will Damage CTRL celebrate Iyo’s win. Will Bianca claim a rematch? How bad is her knee injury?
