LA Knight will clash with The Miz in a one-on-one match at WWE Payback 2023 PLE.

Rivalry between LA Knight and Miz has been ongoing for quite a while now. The rivalry started when LA Knight eliminated Miz from the 25 Men Slim Jim SummerSlam Battle Royal at SummerSlam 2023 PLE.

Following the SummerSlam 2023 PLE, both Miz and Knight engaged in several confrontations, and both also interfered in each other’s matches many times.

In the most recent August 18 episode of SmackDown, LA Knight’s chance to become the number one contender for the United States Championship against Austin Theory was obstructed due to interference from The Miz.

The same happened on August 21 episode of RAW, where Miz was set to face Akira Tozawa in a one-on-one match, but due to LA Knight interference, Miz lost the match. During the August 25 episode of SmackDown, a video segment featured Miz’s interview with TMZ Sports, during which he referred to Knight as a fad and Napster.

Later, Knight responded by mocking Miz and confidently mentioning that he was ready to face him anywhere. Knight concluded his statement by referencing a wise man’s advice: “The next time you see me, run.” Afterward, WWE announced the match between Knight and Miz for Payback 2023 PLE.

During the SmackDown August 25 episode, LA Knight also defeated Finn Balor in a one-on-one match, marking his greatest victory so far. The match was in tribute of Bray Wyatt.

WWE Payback 2023 PLE is scheduled for September 2, 2023, at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. United States Championship match is also set for the event between Rey Mysterio and Austin Theory.
