Kenny Omega vs. Wheeler Yuta set for 7/5 AEW Dynamite
Kenny Omega will face Wheeler Yuta in a one-on-one action on the 5 July episode of AEW Dynamite. Toni Khan made the official announcement.
Omega and Yuta have been engaged in a long-standing rivalry between their factions – The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club. These teams will also face each other in the Blood and Guts match, which is scheduled for the July 19, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite.
However, they will be clashing in a singles match before that showdown. AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce the match between Omega and Yuta for next week’s Dynamite episode.

Omega and Yuta earlier faced off at AEW Double or Nothing PPV event as part of The Elite vs Blackpool Combat Club Anarchy in the Arena match where Yuta secured the victory for BCC by pinning Kenny Omega after an interference from Konosuke Takeshita.
Both Yuta and Omega lost their matches at the recent Forbidden Door PPV event. Omega lost IWGP US Heavyweight Championship to Will Osperary while and Yuta was part of the Blackpool Combat Club team that lost to The Elite in a ten-man tag team match.
July 5, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite will be live from Rogers Place, Edmonton, AB, US. A rescheduled Owen Hart Cup match between Britt Baker and Ruby Soho, and a match for Blind Eliminator tag team tournament are also set. Below is the announced lineup for the show:
- Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament: Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee vs. Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy
- Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament: Ruby Soho vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD
