Bad Bunny announced during this week’s RAW episode(April 24) that he will take on Damian Priest in a street fight. WWE Backlash 2023 takes place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on May 6, which is Bunny’s own native country.
The storyline for this match started at WrestleMania 39 when Bad Bunny stopped Dominik from using chains in the match against Rey Mysterio. On the following RAW episode, Bad Bunny once again tried to save Rey from a post-match attack from Judgment Day but Damian Priest dropped him and put him through the announce table.

He tries to push Bunny off the announce table but another kendo stick shot tripped Priest. Bunny then forced Priest to run away into the crowd.
Bad Bunny then took the mic to announce that he is no longer the host of Backlash 2023 as previously announced. Instead, he is coming to kick Priest’s a## in a street fight. the match was confirmed later by WWE.
This is going to be third match for Bad Bunny in WWE ring. His debut match came at WrestleMania 37 where he teamed up with Damian Priest himself to defeat The Miz and John Morrison. He later entered 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match where he eliminated Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler from the match being eliminated by Brock Lesnar.
