The headline match of AEW Full Gear 2023 PPV event has been changed.

Tony Khan revealed that Adam Cole is set to step in for MJF against Jay White in the AEW World Championship match at the main event of AEW Full Gear 2023 PPV event.

During the AEW Full Gear Zero Hour Show, MJF and Samoa Joe secured victory over The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) to claim the ROH Tag Team title. Following this win, Adam Cole made a surprise entrance, greatly delighting MJF.

Following the match, Austin and Colten continued their assault, ruthlessly attacking MJF with a steel chair and focusing on his leg. This resulted in MJF screaming in pain. Subsequently, a stretcher was brought in to transport MJF out of the area due to the severity of his injuries.

As MJF was being taken away, he urged Adam Cole not to let Jay White win his title. As the main card started, Tony Schiavone updated that MJF is not able to defend his title in the main event. Adam Cole stopped White from being declared the next champion and instead asked that he would step in for MJF. Tony Khan officially sanctioned the match.

Adam Cole is also currently dealing with a leg injury himself and has been seen on crutches. As for MJF, the severity of his injury hasn’t been confirmed at this time.
