Drew McIntyre Wins Elimination Chamber, To Face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40

Drew McIntyre will challenge Seth Rollins for World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

An Elimination Chamber match was set up at Elimination Chamber event in Perth, Australia, with the winner earning a shot at World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Drew and LA Knight started the match with Kevin Owens entering the match at #3. Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton and Logan Paul entered in this order. Lashley was the first man to be eliminated after two Claymore kicks from Drew with the second one coming when he was trying to block Knight’s move.

Knight was eliminated after AJ Styles attacked him and Drew capitalized to pin him. Orton then hit Owens with an RKO for his first elimination in this match. Showboating cost Logan Paul as Orton caught him with an RKO before Paul could use his knuckles. Orton’s back gave up when Drew hit him with a spinebuster on his injured back.

Orton hit an RKO on Drew but Paul then hit him with his knuckles and Drew McIntyre pinned Orton to win the match.

Seth Rollins currently holds the World Heavyweight Championship. He is the inaugural title holder which he won by winning a tournament by beating AJ Styles in the final at Night of Champions 2023 event.

Drew has lost to Seth Rollins twice – at Crown Jewel 2023, and Day 1 RAW on January 1, 2024. But, the losses came after a distraction from Damain Priest trying to cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Drew been calling out for another opportunity for the World title since.

WrestleMania 40 is set to take place on April 6 and April 7. Cody Rhodes is set to challenge for Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in the main event of one of the nights.
