EVENT NOTES

UFC would start its 2024 events schedule with a Fight Night Event on January 13 at UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas. This will be the 84th Fight Night event at the venue, and will be known as UFC Vegas 84. Earlier, it was called UFC Vegas 83, but UFC Shanghai was shifted to Apex Center was then called Vegas 83 event.

Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker fought at UFC 294 where the fight was stopped in the fourth minute of first round after an inadvertent knee strike from Ankalaev. Ringside doctor ruled Walker unfit to continue due to a concussion and the fight was declared a no-contest. A rematch was then booked as the headliner of this event.

Manel Kape and Matheus Nicolau were announced for a flyweight rematch at the show. However, Kape weight 129.5 lbs at the weigh-in event which was 3.5 lbs over the weight limit. Therefore, the fight was later canceled.
