Edgar Chairez vs Daniel Lacerda

Edgar Chairez and Daniel Lacerda are once again scheduled for a fight on UFC Fight Night event on February 24, 2024.

The news of the flyweight rematch being booked comes from Carlos Legaspi of ESPN Deportes. This is the third time this bout has been booked.

Chairez and Lacerda previously clashed in a flyweight bout at Noche UFC event on September 16 this year. The fight was ruled as a no-contest due to a premature stoppage from the referee Chris Tognoni. Tognoni mistakenly thought that Lacerda has gone limp when Chairez had him in a standing guillotine against the cage. On review, it was clear that it was an early stoppage.

A rematch was rebooked for UFC event on October 14, but the bout was canceled after Lacerda suffered medical issues after the weigh-in. The bout is not being booked once again for February 24, 2024 event.

The event is expected to take place in Mexico, but an exact location is not reported right now.

Edgar Chairez has taken part in only one UFC bout so far which came agianst Tatsuro Taira at UFC 290 PPV. He lost that bout via unanimous decision. His overall MMA record stands at 10-5 with 1 no-contest.

Daniel Lacerda has suffered 4 losses in a row under UFC’s banner before this no-contest result. He has faced CJ Vergara, Victor Altamirano, Francisco Figueiredo and Jeff Molina in his UFC run so far and has lost each of these fights via stoppage.
