EVENT NOTES

This was a UFC Fight Night event that aired from UFC Apex Arena. It is the 81st Fight Night event to air from the arena and, therefore, was also called UFC Vegas 81.

UFC announced on September 6, 2023, that the event would have Sodiq Yusuff vs Edson Barboza featherweight bout as the main event.

Viviane Arouja was set to face Casey O’Neill at UFC 293 event, but O’Neill suffered an injury and pulled out of the bout. Arouja was then booked to face Jennifer Maia and the bout was rescheduled to this event.

Edgar Chairez and Daniel Lacerda fought at Noche UFC on September 16 where the bout stopped prematurely and was declared a no-contest after the first round. The rematch was then booked for this event. Both fighters made weight at the weigh-in event, but Lacerda suffered some medical issues afterward and the bout was cancelled.
