Fury was coming off an exhibition bout where he missed his contracted weight and had a late change in opponent, but was still able to get a comfortable win. Paul was ringside during the bout and was continuously chirping in with trash talk. Fury responded with a call out for Paul to make the fight between them.
Jake Paul came off an unanimous decision win over Anderson Silva in October 2022. Prior to this win, Paul defeated Tyron Woodley twice and Ben Askren once in headliner bouts on the PPV.
