The Rock Appears on WWE RAW Day 1, Teases Roman Reigns Match
The Rock has given the biggest tease yet for his match against Roman Reigns.
WWE had announced that a former WWE Champion would be appearing at WWE Day 1 RAW episode, but the crowd was swerved when it was Jinder Mahal who came out. Mahal insulted the citizens of United States for being so broken up on every issue.
The Rock then interrupted Mahal with his entrance and ran down Mahal for a while. He even got the crowd to chant “Day 1 Douchebag” at Mahal. They ultimately threw hands as Mahal attacked Rock. The Rock was able to fight back quickly and hit him with the People’s Elbow.
As he was wrapping up his promo, The Rock asked the fans in San Diego when he would go out to eat tonight if he should sit at the booth, or the bar or at the Head of the Table.
The Head of The Table is clearly a reference to Roman Reigns, the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Cousins in real life, a showdown between The Rock and Roman Reigns has been teased for years. But this is the first time that it has been teased on WWE TV. Will WrestleMania 40 be the place we get this match in three months?
Roman is currently at 1216 days as WWE Universal Champion, which is the longest for any World champion in WWE since Hulk Hogan in 1980s. If he loses at WrestleMania 40, he will fall short of Hogan’s record at around 100 days.
The Rock is also rumored to appear at Elimination Chamber 2024 event in Perth, Australia.
