WWE RAW Day 1 2024

WWE RAW will kick start the year with Day 1 TV special episode on January 1, 2024. The show features 4 big matches including two title defenses.

Seth Rollins will take on Drew McIntyre in World Heavyweight Championship match while Rhea Ripley will face Ivy Nile to defend Women’s World Championship. Becky Lynch will also be in action against Nia Jax.

Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark clash with Natalya and Tegan Nox in a tag team match to determine the new #1 contender for women’s tag team titles. Triple H has teased a former WWE Champion appearing at RAW. Andrade is also expected to return to WWE. Keep tuned in for results and updates from RAW below.

RESULTS


Michael Cole and Wade Barrett opened the show in the ring and went through the match card for tonight which has Judgment Day added for Miz TV. They also confirmed that a former WWE Champion would appear tonight as Triple H teased.

Nia Jax defeated Becky Lynch via pinfall. Becky had Nia in disarmher but Nia countered it with a powerbomb, only for Becky to kick out at the last moment. Nia countered with an Avalanche Samoan Drop for another late kickout. Becky unloaded with quick strikes but Nia caught Becky with an uppercut and hit annihilator to get the pin.

Cody Rhodes came out in his ring gear as he wanted to fight Shinsuke Nakamura right away. Nakamura appeared with a message from the big screen and said Cody had to wait for one more week.

CM Punk is announced to return next week at RAW.

Kofi Kingston & Jey Uso defeated Imperium(Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) via referee stoppage after some injury to Vinci.

Only R-Truth came out when The Miz announced Judgment Day as the special guests on his talkshow. After R-Truth talked about the faction for a while, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh came out to interrupt them. This ultimately led to a tag team match with Miz & R-Truth facing Dominik and McDonagh.

R-Truth and The Miz defeated Judgment Day(Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh) in a tag team match. R-Truth kept on being confused that he is Judgment Day. When JD asked him to hit Miz, he took out JD and fed him to Miz for Skull Crushing Finale for the finish. Truth was winking at Dominik after the match when Miz raised his hands.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter were partying at a nightclub. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven went to the place and told them that they were going to Nick Aldis for a title rematch. The champions replied that they did not need to do that as they are fighting champions and would give them a rematch.

Rhea Ripley defeated Ivy Nile to retain Women’s World Championship. Nile created momentum late in the match, but Rhea countered with a headbutt when Nile went for a crossbody before finishing up the match with a Riptide.

Jinder Mahal came out when the arrival of a former WWE Champion was announced. Mahal kept insulting United States for being so broken and promised that he would unite them. Mahal then said he united them into booing him. As Mahal continued on and on with his promo, The Rock’s music hit and he came out. When Mahal said Rock should be ashamed of being called these people’s champ, Rock replied that he was proud instead. Rock ran down Mahal for calling America a joke. He got the crowd to chant “Day 1 Douchebag” at Mahal. Mahal attacked The Rock before he fought back and hit The People’s Elbow. The Rock ended the promo asking if he should sit at the Head of the Table.

Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark defeated Natalya and Tegan Nox in the #1 contender for women’s tag team titles. They will challenge the winner of next week’s title match.

Seth Rollins defeated Drew McIntyre to retain World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins countered a Claymore with a powerbomb before another counter to hit a Pedigree. Damian Priest came out with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Dominik Mysterio was with him and distracted the referee. Priest hit Rollins with MITB breifcase. McIntyre hit Priest with a Claymore against the breifcase and Dominik with a belly to belly suplex. He hit Rollins with a Claymore, but Rollins’ leg was on the ropes when the referee was counting for the pin. Rollins countered when McIntyre tried to put him through the table and hit a Pedigree on the table. Back to the ring, Rollins hits the stomp to get the pinfall.
