The Fiend Bray Wyatt is the new WWE Universal Champion after defeating Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel 2019 in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
Seth Rollins and the Fiend earlier faced off at WWE Hell in a Cell where the match ended in a referee stoppage. For their rematch at Crown Jewel 2019, the stipulation was added that the match would not stop due to any reason. But other things were very similar in both settings. The ring was bathing in the red light during the match just like the Hell in a Cell match.
Just like Hell in a Cell match between these two, Wyatt was not showing any effect after being hit by the stomp. Near the end of the match, the brawl between Rollins and Wyatt reached the stage. Rollins turned up the things there and hit many stomps. But the Fiend kept getting up again and again. Rollins finally superkicked him and he fell into some production crate. As Rollins reached near Wyatt, he grabbed Rollins into the Mandible Claw and finished off the match with Sister Abigail.
This is the first time that a WWE World Title has changed hands at the PPV show in Saudi Arabia. Also, this is the first time that WWE Universal Championship has changed hands outside North America.
The feud between Wyatt and Rollins started when Wyatt announced that the Fiend will go for the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell. The Fiend came good on that promise by attacking Seth Rollins after his successful title defense at Clash of Champions. They faced off at WWE Hell in a Cell where the match was ended in a referee stoppage. The ending was panned by critics and fans alike. We even included the same match in the worst matches of recent years.
But their feud continued regardless and the Fiend kept attacking Seth Rollins during his match against Roman Reigns at WWE Draft edition of SmackDown. WWE announced the Falls Count Anywhere rematch at Crown Jewel 2019 before Rollins burned down the Fun House set. Later, the additional stipulation was added that the match will not stop for any reason, to avoid the repeat like Hell in a Cell.
