WWE SmackDown episode of April 12, 2024, will continue the fallout from WrestleMania XL event while also starting the build-up for Backlash 2024. Only things announced for the show yet are appearances from newly crowned Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes and WWE Women’s Champion Bayley. Check below for the complete preview.
Despite only showing up periodically, Roman Reigns was a SmackDown star for most of the time he held Universal title. While Cody Rhodes’ brand might only be decided at Draft this year, Cody and his title likely belong to blue brand for now. He made an appearance at RAW After WrestleMania episode this week, Cody will also be seen on SmackDown now. What more does the new champion has to say? Will we see some challenger stepping up to him?
Bayley became the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania by beating her former stablemate Iyo Sky. As Bayley ushers into the new era as the champion, will she be able to Damage CTRL behind? After all, they were not involved in their match at WrestleMania at all? Or will it be an entirely new direction for her?
We also have new SmackDown Tag Team Champions in Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. What kind of champion will they prove to be? With the tag team division now stacked, who will step up to them first?
