Rollins vs The Fiend at Crown Jewel Won’t Stop For Any Reason
WWE has announced that Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WWE Universal Championship between Seth Rollins and the Fiend Bray Wyatt will not be stopped for any reason.
Seth Rollins battled the Fiend in a Hell in a Cell match at the namesake PPV earlier this month. The match ended in a referee stoppage when Seth Rollins used a sledgehammer square on the Fiend’s face. The ending met with a chorus of boos and chants of “restart the match.”
Online Wrestling Community panned the booking decision and wondered why this match was stopped when we have already seen much dangerous ‘Hell in a Cell’ matches over the years. In the aftermath, WWE released a kayfabe statement from the referee of the match, Rod Zapata, where he said that he stopped the match citing security of Bray Wyatt.
Last week, WWE went on and announced the rematch at WWE Crown Jewel 2019 with Falls Count Anywhere stipulation. Now another stipulation is added to the match that the match cannot be stopped in any condition. WWE announced this stipulation during last night’s Friday Night SmackDown episode.
Seth Rollins was earlier announced to be leading Team Hogan at the event. But he has been removed from that match since then and is replaced by Roman Reigns.
