Okada has maintained an undefeated streak in finals with four tournament wins. If he wins the tournament for the fifth time, he will tie with Mashahiro Chono for the most G1 Climax tournament wins. Legend Antonio Inoki is the only wrestler to win the tournament on more occasions with 10 wins, but the tournament was known as World League, MSG and IWGP League during that time.
Naito secured the top position in D Block with a 5-2 record. In the quarterfinals, Naito defeated Hikuleo. Naito last went to the final in 2017, and in that year he won the final by defeating Kenny Omega for the second time. His first G1 Climax tournament win came in 2013.
The ultimate showdown of the tournament is set for tomorrow, August 13 at Sumo Hall(Korukean Hall) in Tokyo, Japan.
