Wrestlemania Matches

1. WrestleMania 29 – The Shield vs Sheamus, Randy Orton & Big Show

The Shield were in their early day in WWE and challenged Randy Orton and Sheamus for a match at WrestleMania. They attacked Orton and Sheamus, but Big Show made the save. Big Show was later added as their third opponent in the tag team match.

During the match, Big Show and Sheamus ripped off Rollins and Ambrose’s vest and dominated a good part of the match. However, The Shield was able to capitalize on their opponents’ infighting. Orton tagged himself in which infuriated Big Show, leading to him leaving the match in between. Roman hit a spear on Orton to win the match.


2. WrestleMania 30 – The Shield vs Kane & The New Age Outlaws

The Shield was feuding with Kane in the build-up to WrestleMania 30. Kane teamed up with The New Age Outlaws for a 6-man tag team match. This was a very short match as Roman took out Kane with a spear and the Shield hit triple powerbomb on The New Age Outlaws to get the win.


3. WrestleMania 31 – vs Randy Orton

Seth Rollins faced Randy Orton at WrestleMania 31 in his first singles match at WrestleMania. Both Rollins and Orton were part of the Authority in 2014. The storyline started when Rollins hit Orton with a curb stomp in October after some tension between the two. Orton and Rollins faced off in a match at RAW where Rollins won. A post-match brawl led to Rollins hitting Orton with a curbstomp and leaving him sidelined for a few months. Orton returned in March 2015 to restart their feud.

An intense match played out between the duo at WrestleMania 31. Both men kicked out of each other’s finisher, but Orton was able to counter a second curbstomp with an RKO to get the pin. This was Rollins’ first loss at WrestleMania.


4. WrestleMania 31 – vs Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns – WWE Championship

The main event of WrestleMania 31 was originally between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. However, Rollins was the Money in the Bank briefcase holder at this time, which he won at Money in the Bank 2014 event. After Roman and Brock have battered each other for 12 minutes, Rollins ran out and cashed-in his title shot. Lesnar was quick to take Rollins up for an F5, but Roman hit him with a spear. Rollins capitalized by hitting Roman with the curb stomp to win the WWE title for the first time in his career.


5. WrestleMania 33 – vs Triple H – Non-Sanctioned Match

Triple H actually backed Rollins during his WWE title run throughout 2015. But, it was Hunter itself who turned on Rollins to cost him the Universal title match to Kevin Owens in 2016. As 2017 started, Rollins started calling out Triple H for a match. He even gatecrashed NXT TakeOver: San Antonio to call him out, but Triple H had him escorted out with security. The Architect was then attacked by Samoa Joe on RAW and hurt his knee. Triple H further damaged his knee in the coming weeks when Seth came out to save Mick Foley. Rollins had to sign a waiver and a contract for a non-sanctioned match to get his wish.

At WrestleMania 33, Hunter tries to use the non-sanctioned stipulation to good use and targeted Rollins’ injured knee. Rollins kicked out of a pedigree. In the dying minutes, he hit Hunter with a superkick who crashed into Stephanie McMahon and sent her through a table. The Architect then defeated Triple H by hitting him with pedigree itself. This win earned Rollins the Moniker of “Kingslayer.”


6. WrestleMania 34 – vs The Miz vs Finn Balor – WWE Intercontinental Championship

This match was setup after both Seth and Finn Balor answered The Miz’s challenge for the Intercontinental title match. Both men went on to pin Miz on the same night on RAW. Next week, they both were involved in a 2-on-3 handicapped match against Miz & Miztourage, and Seth pinned Miz to win that match also. This led to a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34.

The match opened the main card of the show. In the final minutes of the match, Balor hit Miz with Coupe de Grace but Seth broke the pin with the curb stomp on Balor while he was on top of Miz. Seth hit another curb stomp to get the pin on Miz.


7. WrestleMania 35 – vs Brock Lesnar – WWE Universal Championship

Seth Rollins won the Royal Rumble match in 2019 and chose to challenge Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. During the build-up, Rollins would cut promos with Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman, making the point that he wants to take the title away from a part-timer in Brock Lesnar.

This match opened WrestleMania 35 and Brock Lesnar did not even let Rollins enter the ring to attack him. As it happened, Lesnar continued beating Rollins as the match started. Lesnar knocked up the referee as he tried to hit Rollins with an F5. Rollins then hit a low blow on Lesnar and followed it with back-to-back curb stomps to get the win. The win earned Rollins the moniker of The Beastslayer.


8. WrestleMania 36 – vs Kevin Owens – No Disqualification Match

The storyline between Rollins and Owens started when he questioned Kevin Owens’ loyalty for Team RAW at Survivor Series after he appeared at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. Owens hit him with a Stunner in response. Rollins then added AOP to his stable and attacked Owens backstage. As things progressed, Buddy Murphy also joined Rollins to feud with the likes of Owens, Aleister Black, Samoa Joe and The Viking Raiders. The two sides even brawled during the men’s Royal Rumble match as Rollins’ side interfered to eliminate Owens. Owens then costed in Rollins and Murphy in their RAW Tag Team title defense. Rollins then challenged Owens for a match at WrestleMania 36, which Owens accepted.

The match at WrestleMania was originally a normal wrestling match. However, after Owens rallied and hit Rollins with a pop-up powerbomb, Rollins decided to end it via DQ by hitting Owens with the ring bell. Following this finish, KO taunted Rollins and challenged him for a no-DQ match. Rollins took the bait and returned to resume the match. As the match proceeded, Owens hit Rollins with the ring bell and set him up on the announce table. Owens then hit a dive from the top of WrestleMania. He then finished the match with a stunner to get the pin.


9. WrestleMania 37 – vs Cesaro

The storyline between Rollins and Cesaro started when he tried to rally the locker room into stepping up their game. Rollins thought he has got through to Cesaro when he stayed back. When Cesaro also walked out, Rollins dropped him from behind. On their road to WrestleMania 37, both men were involved in several brawls. Rollins kept saying that he had become sick of the disrespect shown by Cesaro.

At WrestleMania, Rollins and Cesaro presented what was arguably the match of the event. Cesaro ended up getting the win with a Neutralizer. But, that came only after a record of 23 rounds of swings during the match.


10. WrestleMania 38 – vs Cody Rhodes

Seth Rollins was without any opponent at WrestleMania 38 and tried very hard to insert himself in any spot. When he threatened to take RAW hostage until he gets his WrestleMania match, Vince McMahon called him for a meeting. McMahon readily gave him a match with the condition that he would know the identity of his opponent until he gets in the ring.

The mystery opponent turned out to be none other than Cody Rhodes, who returned to WWE after six years. Cody and Rollins put up a great match, but Cody got the win after three back-to-back Crossrhodes.


11. WrestleMania 39 – vs Logan Paul

The rivalry between Seth Rollins and Logan Paul started when Paul eliminated Rollins from 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match. Rollins was bitter about Rollins, costing him a WrestleMania main event and started bad-mouthing him. Later, Logan cost Rollins United States Championship match at Elimination Chamber. Rollins then called out Logan to meet him face to face on RAW where they agreed to a showdown at WrestleMania 39.

At WrestleMania 39, Logan entered on a zipline with his Prime(his energy drink brand) mascot. Rollins was controlling the match until Logan dropped his face on the ropes. Rollins tried to take out Logan’s hand with a stomp on it on the steel steps but Logan was still able to hit his big punch. Rollins took back the control with a sitout powerbomb. As he was about to hit the stomp, the Prime Mascot, later revealed to be Youtuber & Boxer KSI, pulled out Logan. Rollins then pulled KSI onto the announce table as Logan hit a frog splash from the top rope. Rollins hit a pedigree but Logan kicked out. Logan hit a GTS and a frog splash but Rollins also survived. Rollins then cut off Logan’s Coast-to-Coast with a superkick and followed up with the stomp to win the match.


12. WrestleMania 40 Night 1 – Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes vs The Rock & Roman Reigns

After Cody Rhodes won the men’s Royal Rumble 2024, he signaled facing Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins tried to convince Cody to choose him, the World Heavyweight Champion, at WrestleMania instead. Cody did say that he was stepping aside from facing Roman later that week before The Rock presented himself as the possible opponent for Roman Reigns. Rollins attended WrestleMania kick-off event in Las Vegas on February 8, 2024, where Cody announced that he was indeed facing Roman Reigns. The Rock then slapped Cody for his comments related to his family. Rollins stood up to The Rock and argued with him over his act. The following week on RAW, Rollins offered his help to Cody to fight The Bloodline(Roman Reigns, The Rock and others). Cody then challenged The Rock for a singles match, but The Rock responded with a challenge for a tag team match against Cody and Rollins.

The Rock and Roman got upper hand in the match with Rock using his authority against the officials to get undue advantage. Despite this, Rollins and Cody had them on the ropes several times. In the final minutes, Rollins tried to fight The Rock on the floor and got injured. The Rock then capitalized to save Roman from Cody’s’ choke before hitting The Rockbottom and People’s Elbow to get the win.


13. WrestleMania 40 Night 2 – vs Drew McIntyre – World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions 2023 in May 2023. He was entering WrestleMania with a 300+ days title reign. Drew McIntyre won the Elimination Chamber match to earn the title shot against Rollins at WrestleMania 40. Rollins had retained the title against Drew twice before at Crown Jewel 2023 and RAW Day 1 2024 episode.

Rollins also suffered an injury and was in bad shape due to the tag team match against The Rock and Roman Reigns on the previous night. This match opened night 2 of WrestleMania 40 where both men mostly hit each other with their high performance moves. At the end, Drew countered Rollins’ stomp to hit a Claymore kick to get the win.
