Paige introduces Kairi Sane-Asuka Tag Team
As the speculations came true, Paige introduced the tag team of Asuka and new NXT recruit Kairi Sane in the SmackDown Roster amid the WWE Superstar Shakeup 2019.
With the Superstar Shakeup going on, Bayley and Ember Moon came to SmackDown to challenge Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. But before that angle could come to any conclusion, Women’s Tag Team Champions the IIconics came out to mock Bayley for taking away the title from her. As Paige promised last week, she came out to introduce a new tag team to challenge the IIconics.
Before Paige could announce anything, her former Absolution partners Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose interrupted her but Paige clarified that she does not intend to reform the stable. She instead told that Asuka will be a tag team player going forward while also introducing the 2-time NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane to the SmackDown roster and Asuka’s partner.
All women, bar Becky, ended up in a brawl which lead to a 8-women tag team match. As per the norm, the new recruit Sane did the honors of finishing off the match as she hit the InSane Elbow on Mandy Rose after some good work from her teammates.
