Will Ospreay Changes IWGP US Title To IWGP United Kingdom Title
Will Ospreay has decided to redesign the IWGP US Title.
In the backstage interview after the NJPW G1 semi-final match, Will Ospreay disclosed that he has rebranded the IWGP United States Championship to the IWGP United Kingdom Championship.
Will Ospreay changed the United States flag to the United Kingdom flag and modified the name from United States to United Kingdom.

“I am sick to death of carrying something I have no attachment to. I don’t want to carry the US flag. I’ve been to America and been the best in the world. Canada, Europe, Australia and Japan, I am the best in the world. The best in the world is from the United Kingdom,” Ospreay said in the press conference.
Will Ospreay won the IWGP US title at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 PPV event by defeating Kenny Omega in a bloody match. Till now, Ospreay has not defended his IWGP US title on any occasion. Ospreay has been recently saying that he does not like the belt’s name and design.
Will Ospreay recently got defeated by Tetsuya Naito in the semifinals of the NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament. In the tournament, Ospreay finished in second place in the B Block. In the quarterfinals, he defeated David Finlay.
The final for NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament is set for August 13 between Tetsuya Naito and Kazuchika Okada.
