Dominik vs Ali NXT North American Title Bout Set for NXT No Mercy
Dominik Mysterio will defend his NXT North American Championship against Mustafa Ali at NXT No Mercy 2023 PPV event.
During the September 5 episode of NXT, Mustafa Ali and Dragon Lee were set to face each other for the #1 contender match for the North American title. In the match, Dominik Mysterio was set as a special guest referee.
Dominik already signified that it would not be a fair game as as he tore down a WWE rulebook backstage. During the match, he effectively chose his next opponent as he gave Ali the win with a quick count. Additionally, Dominik Mysterio was deliberately counting slow for Dragon Lee when he was trying to pin Ali.

Dominik did not want to face Lee because, at August 22 episode of NXT, Lee pinned Dominik in the mixed tag team match to secure the victory. However, Dominik’s last title defense was also against Dragon Lee on August 8 episode of NXT.
Ali was part of a triple threat match for North American title at NXT Great American Bash event against Dominik and Wes Lee, but was unsuccessful in getting the win.
NXT No Mercy is scheduled for September 30, 2023, and it will be live from Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, CA. The #1 contender match is also set for next week’s episode of NXT where Wes Lee will face Ilja Dragunov the winner will face Hayes at No Mercy PPV event for the NXT Championship.
