Nick Aldis has assumed the role of new General Manager of WWE SmackDown and has traded Kevin Owens to the brand as his first act.

During the October 13 episode of SmackDown, Triple H was scheduled to deliver a significant announcement. As he came out, Adam Pearce was already in the ring. Triple H praised Adam Pearce for his role as a WWE official for the last 3 years on both RAW and SmackDown. He then revealed that Pearce is being promoted to the position of the new general manager of RAW.

Triple H was about to reveal the new general manager of SmackDown when Dominik Mysterio entered the ring and expressed his feelings about Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Cody Rhodes losing Undisputed Tag Team Championship at Fastlane and Adam Pearce allowing Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso to defend the titles against some other team before their title shot on RAW this week.

Triple H responded by suggesting that Dominik raise the matter with the right person. Subsequently, he announced Nick Aldis as the new general manager of SmackDown. Nick Aldis joined the discussion in the ring and conveyed to Adam Pearce that he is eager to see healthy competition between RAW and SmackDown under their respective leadership.

Nick Aldis, a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, has been serving backstage at WWE, taking on the role of producer.

Aldis then brought up how a superstar needs to be traded from RAW to Smackdown as a result of Jey Uso moving to RAW at Payback 2023. Dominik tried to interrupt him again to talk about Balor and Preist, but Kevin Owens made his entrance to hit him with the stunner. Aldis then confirmed that it is Owens who is moving to SmackDown now.

With Kevin Owens now drafted to SmackDown, it remains to be seen if the tag team between him and Sami Zayn will continue or now.
