Update on Drew McIntyre’s Contract Situation with WWE

Drew McIntyre WWE Elimination Chamber 2022

Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract is expected to end in the coming months after WrestleMania 40. However, he is yet to come a new deal with WWE.

That has not changed much for McIntyre in terms of his booking as he is continuously booked well in the main event scene. The latest report from PWInsider Elite has shed some light on the situation.

As per the report, WWE is currently working under the idea that McIntyre will re-sign with the promotion. It is the same reason that Drew has been advertised for the European tour in April and May.

The report states that it is infact both WWE and McIntyre that are hoping to get a new deal completed soon. However, the report also noted that a chance remains that talks between the sides might break down.

Previously, it was reported that McIntyre wanted to hear about the creative ideas for him in the coming months before signing a new deal. Finances might also be an issue as all contract extensions are expected to receive a significant bump in salary.

Drew McIntyre is set to face Cody Rhodes on RAW February 19 episode next. He is also set to be part of the men’s Elimination Chamber match in Perth, Australia, later this month, where a win would put him in the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
