Matt Riddle & Seth Rollins Clash in Fight Pit at WWE Extreme Rules
Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle will continue their rivalry at WWE Extreme Rules 2022 event in a rather interesting match.
After yet another episode of RAW where they both cost each other matches and were involved in a brawl, Matt Riddle answered Seth Rollins’ challenge by proposing a Fight Pit Match at Extreme Rules. The Architect accepted the challenge promptly.
Rollins and Riddle are feuding since July when Riddle attacked Rollins after Rollins had some harsh words for him and Randy Orton. The pair were supposed to clash at Summerslam, but a stomp on the steel steps from Rollins led to Riddle getting injured. The match was later shifted to Clash at the Castle event. Throughout the buildup, they kept getting involved in brawling.
At Clash at the Castle, Rollins was able to get a win over Riddle after a hard-fought match and an inspiring performance from Riddle. Riddle has been asking for a rematch ever since. He attacked Rollins last week during his promo. Rollins then cost him a match against Finn Balor from the outside.
This week on RAW, Riddle came out during Rollins’ match against WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, leading to a distraction and Lashley hitting Rollins with a spear for the pin. Rollins returned the favor later on the show when Riddle was teaming up with Rey Mysterio to take on Judgment Day. Rollins’ attack on Riddle led to Rey Mysterio trying to make a save and getting caught by a chokeslam from Damian Priest.
After the match, Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins kept brawling backstage. After they were separated, Rollins said he would give Riddle a rematch. Riddle then said he wants Rollins in Fight Pit which Rollins accepted.
WWE Extreme Rules 2022 event will take place on October 8, 2022, in Philadelphia, PA.
