LA Knight Catches COVID-19, Plans Changed for WWE SmackDown
LA Knight missed this week’s WWE SmackDown episode after he caught COVID-19 which has also put plans for his match at Fastlane 2023 on hold.
As per a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, LA Knight tested positive for COVID just before WWE Smackdown on September 22. He had to leave the building after testing positive and did not appear on screen.
Sapp also added that Knight was supposed to be involved in the main event segment. John Cena featured in the main event segment where he signed a contract for a tag team match against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa of the Bloodline at Fastlane 2023 event.
Originally, LA Knight was listed as being involved in tonight's contract signing. Knight was listed as a surprise to help John Cena.

He was also internally listed as teaming with Cena in a dark match following the show.

Cena’s proposed tag team partner AJ Styles was beaten backstage by Uso and Sikoa and was taken to hospital. Cena was also taken down when he attacked The Bloodline members. Uso and Sikoa also signed the contract, but the spot for Cena’s tag team partner remains vacant for now.
Sapp reported that LA Knight was listed as the surprise to help out Cena against the Bloodline at the end of the show. Additionally, he was also listed of a dark tag team match with Cena after the show.
Cena earlier took the role of the special guest referee in LA Knight’s win over The Miz at Payback earlier this month. The rumors around them teaming up started ever since Cena’s two month run on SmackDown was announced.
We wish LA Knight a quick recovery. Keep tuned in for the latest updates from the show.
