Carmelo Hayes vs Lexis King Announced for NXT Deadline 2023

Carmelo Hayes will face Lexis King in a one-on-one match at NXT Deadline 2023 event.

During the October 17 episode of WWE NXT, Trick Williams was assaulted backstage before a #1 Contender’s Match for the NXT Championship, causing him to be withdrawn from the bout.

Williams is suspicious about the identity of the person who attacked him. During December 5 episode of NXT, Hayes asserted his innocence, but a video posted from NXT Anonymous indicated collaboration between Hayes and Lexis King to harm Williams.

When Williams confronted Hayes during the same episode, Hayes denied the accusation by stating that he would never collaborate with King.

Following this, Hayes made a promise to demonstrate his innocence by defeating King at NXT Deadline. Ava, who had earlier organized a match between Roxanne Perez and Kiana James during the show, confirmed that the match between Hayes and King was practically confirmed and set to happen.

NXT Deadline 2023 will take place on December 9 at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT. Axiom is also set for the show, where he will face Nathan Frazer.
