8-Man Tag Team match Set for IMPACT Emergence 2023 Event

IMPACT has officially added an 8-man Tag Team match for IMPACT Emergence 2023 event featuring IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley and X-Division Champion Lio Rush on opposite sides.

Josh Alexander will team up with Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and KUSHIDA to face Bully Ray, Lio Rush, Moose, and Brian Myers in this match. The match was setup after a brawl on July 27 episode of IMPACT on AXS TV.

Time Splitters (Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA) defeated Moose and Myers. After the match, Bully Ray, Moose, and Myers continued the brawl against Shelley and KUSHIDA, which resulted in Alexander coming to aid Time Splitters.

Lio Rush sided with Ray, Moose, and Myers. After this, Chris Sabin made a surprise return and attacked Rush, which resulted in Shelley, KUSHIDA, and Alexander standing tall. Later on, IMPACT set a match as an 8-man tag team match at the IMPACT Emergence event.

Chris Sabin was out of action because he was injured at the IMPACT Slammiversary event, where he lost his IMPACT X Division title to Lio Rush. Josh Alexander made his surprise return at the IMPACT Slammiversary event and challenged Shelley for the IMPACT World Championship. However, before the title clash, Shelley and Alexander had to work together as tag team partners.

IMPACT Emergence PPV event is scheduled for August 27, 2023, at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. IWPG World Champion Sanada will also make an appearance at the event.

Both Shelley and Rush are set to feature on Multiverse United 2 event a week before Emergence. Shelley will defend IMPACT World title against Hiroshi Tanahashi while Rush will team up with Trey Miguel to faces Mike Bailey and Hiromu Takahashi.
