Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Robelis Despaigne Set for UFC St. Louis
Robelis Despaigne(5-0) is set to face Waldo Cortes-Acosta(11-1) at UFC St. Louis Fight Night event.
The heavyweight bout was announced by Despaigne’s manager AJ Ariosa on Twitter. UFC St. Louis is set to take place on May 11, 2024, at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, MO. The event will also see Trey Waters facing Billy Goff in a welterweight bout.
Despaigne made his UFC debut at UFC 299 where he got a knockout in 18 seconds. All his fights have resulted in first-round knockout wins so far. The last three fights before his UFC debut were ended in 12, 3 and 4 seconds.
Waldo-Acosta is currently on a two-fight winning streak since first loss in his career last April. He lost a unanimous decision to Marcos Rogério de Lima. He then knocked out Łukasz Brzeski at UFC Singapore before getting a decision against Andrei Arlovski at UFC Vegas 84.
