Two ranked flyweights in Alex Perez(24-8) and Tagir Ulanbekov(15-2) are reported to clash at UFC Fight Night event on June 15, 2024.
Marcel Dorff reported this bout which is the first one to be reported for the event. June 15 Fight Night is expected to take place at UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Perez is ranked at #8 in UFC’s flyweight rankings while Ulanbekov is ranked at #12.
Alex Perez is on a 3-fight losing streak right now amid several cancellations and postponements in the last three years. Perez challenged for flyweight title against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 255 before a bunch of cancellations against Matt Schnell and Askar Askarov.
Perez’s next fight came at UFC 277 against Alexandre Pantoja, where he lost via first-round submission. After more cancellations, Perez faced Muhammad Mokaev at UFC Vegas 87 event earlier this month to lose via unanimous decision.
Tagir Ulanbekov is 4-1 in UFC so far and is on a 2-fight winning streak. He beat Nate Maness at UFC Vegas 64 in November 2022. He beat Cody Durden at UFC 296 in his latest bout.
