Tim Elliot vs Tatsuro Taira Reported for UFC Vegas 92 on May 18
Two ranked flyweights in Tim Elliot(20-13-1, #9 UFC flyweight) and Tatsuro Taira(15-0, #13 UFC flyweight) are expected to fight at UFC Vegas 92 event.
Marcel Dorff reported this news. UFC Vegas 92 is set to take place on May 18, 2024, at UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Abus Magomedov vs Warlley Alves middleweight bout was also reported for the event earlier.
Tim Elliot, who previously challenged for the flyweight title in 2016, is 3-1 in his last four fights since the start of 2022. Elliot defeated Tagir Ulanbekov in his sole bout in 2022 at UFC 272. He started 2023 with a win over short-notice replacement Victor Altamirano before losing to Muhammad Mokaev at UFC 294. He then took a short-notice fight to beat Su Mudaerji at UFC Vegas 83.
Japanese fighter Tatsuro Taira is unbeaten in his MMA career so far with 5 of his 15 wins coming under UFC. He was also last active on UFC Vegas 83 where he got a second round TKO win over Carlos Hernandez. Prior to that win, he also defeated Jesús Santos Aguilar at UFC Vegas 68 and Edgar Chairez at UFC 290 in 2023.
