Ramiz Brahimaj vs Themba Gorimbo

Ramiz Brahimaj is reported to return to the octagon after a gap of two years.

MMA Reporter Marcel Dorff reported that Brahimaj(10-4) is set to face Themba Gorimbo(12-4) at UFC Fight Night event on May 18, 2024. Both fighters are from the welterweight division of UFC.

Brahimaj was last seen inside the octagon at UFC Vegas 49 event in February 2022. Since then, two of his bouts have been canceled due to injuries to him. The latest of these was against Carlston Harris in February 2023 where a neck injury to Brahimaj was said to be the reason for cancelation.

Before these cancelations, Brahimaj had two wins and two losses in UFC. His UFC career started in November 2020 with a loss to Max Griffin. It was followed by a win over Sasha Palatnikov before another loss to Court McGee. His latest fight at UFC Vegas 49 saw him win against Micheal Gillmore.

Themba Gorimbo will look to continue on his 2 fights winning streak in this bout. Gorimbo also lost in his UFC debut against AJ Fletcher. He defeated Takashi Sato at UFC Vegas 74 to get his first UFC win. He started 2024 with a win over replacement opponent Pete Rodriguez via knockout in 32 seconds at UFC Vegas 85.

The UFC event on May 18 does not have a disclosed location so far, but is expected to take place at UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas, NV. A middleweight bout between Jun Yong Park and Abus Magomedov was also reported for the event.
