Justin Tafa Replaces Junior Tafa vs Karl Williams at UFC Vegas 89
Justin Tafa(7-3-1) will replace his younger brother Junior Tafa on UFC Vegas 89 fight card.
Junior Tafa was set to face Karl Williams(9-1) at UFC Vegas 89. However, he replaced Justin Tafa at UFC 298 event last month after Justin suffered an injury. Junior Tafa lost to Marcos Rogério de Lima after taking the fight on one day’s notice.
Now, Justin will return the favor by facing Junior’s opponent at UFC Vegas 89 in a heavyweight contest. The report for this switch came from Alex Behunin.
Justin Tafa is currently on 4 fights unbeaten streak. He was last in action to beat Austen Lane at UFC 293 via knockout. Prior to that bout, Lane and Tafa fought to a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke. His overall UFC record stands at 4 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw.
Karl Williams, Contender Series 2022 graduate, currently has two wins in UFC. He made his UFC debut with a win over Łukasz Brzeski at UFC Las Vegas event in March 2023. He followed that up with a win over Chase Sherman at UFC Charlotte Fight Night event.
UFC Vegas 89 is set to take place on March 23, 2024. The event will see flyweight bout between Rose Namajunas and Amada Ribas as the headliner while a featherweight clash between Billy Quarantillo and Gabriel Miranda is also on the card.
