Later, MMA Orbit’s Logan Offord confirmed that the bout was signed for UFC Fight Night event on May 11. On February 24, MMA Reporter Marcel Dorff reported that the event was rumored to take place in St. Louis, MO.

On March 30, 2024, UFC officially announced that Derrick Lewis vs Rodrigo Nascimento heavyweight bout would headline the event.

Michael Johnson vs Matt Frevola bout was announced for the event. Johnson pulled out of the bout with an injury.

Jared Gooden vs Kevin Jousset welterweight bout was booked for this event. Gooden suffered with some medical issues on the day of weigh-in(May 10) and the bout was cancelled.
