UFC Flyweights Jake Headley and Charles Johnson separately posted on social media that they have signed up for their next bout. Later, MMA Orbit’s Logan Offord confirmed that the bout was signed for UFC Fight Night event on May 11. On February 24, MMA Reporter Marcel Dorff reported that the event was rumored to take place in St. Louis, MO.
On March 30, 2024, UFC officially announced that Derrick Lewis vs Rodrigo Nascimento heavyweight bout would headline the event.
