Sam Patterson is Out of UFC Paris Event with Health Issues

Sam Patterson will not be competing in his scheduled bout against Nasrat Haqparast, which was originally planned for September at UFC Paris event.

Sam Patterson announced on Instagram that he has withdrawn from his fight due to health issues. Patterson and Haqparast were booked in a lightweight bout.

As a result of Patterson’s decision to pull out of the bout, it remains uncertain whether Nasrat Haqparast will also be out of the event or if an alternative opponent will be arranged for his match.

Sam Patterson debuted in UFC at UFC 286 event against Yanal Ashmouz, but the match concluded in a loss via KO. Patterson earned his place in the UFC by achieving a victory over Vinicius Cenci in the Dana White Contender Series 2022.

Nasrat Haqparast has won three fights and lost two in his five recent bouts. Haqparast’s recent win came at the UFC Paris event last year, where he defeated John Makdessi by unanimous decision. 

UFC Paris event is scheduled for September 2, 2023, at Accor Arena in Paris, France, featuring a heavyweight bout between Ciryl Gane and Serghei Spivac.
