UFC has revealed Ciryl Gane vs Serghei Spivac heavyweight main event for UFC Paris Fight Night on September 2, 2023.

UFC President Dana White made the announcement on social media that Gane will face Spivac in the headliner of UFC Paris Fight Night. This will be the second year in a row that Gane headlines UFC Paris event at Accor Arena.

The former UFC interim heavyweight champion, Criyl Gane, recently lost a vacant heavyweight title bout against Jon Jones at UFC 285. This was just the second loss in Gane’s career so far. He previously lost to heavyweight title unification bout to Francis Ngannou at UFC 270 in 2022.

In his five fights, Gane has emerged victorious in three bouts apart from these two losses. He defeated Derrick Lewis at UFC 265 to become interim Heavyweight Champion. After his loss to Ngannou, he headlined UFC Paris 2022 event to beat Tai Tuivasa via knockout.

Serghei Spivac is currently on a streak of three consecutive victories. His most recent bout was against Derrick Lewis, where he successfully won via submission in the headliner bout of UFC Fight Night 218.

Serghei has actually won 4 of his 5 bouts. His only loss during this period came against Tom Aspinall in the headliner of a Fight Night event in September 2021. Spivac is currently ranked at #8 in UFC Heavyweight rankings while Gane is #1 contender.
