Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Rescheduled for February 2024

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are now likely to clash in February 2024 for the undisputed heavyweight championship title.

Originally, Fury and Usyk were set to have their match on December 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, these plans were disrupted after Fury’s split-decision victory over Francis Ngannou last Saturday. Fury escaped the fight with a cut and a black eye.

Fury, who was surprisingly knocked down by Usyk in the third round, sustained two cuts during the fight. Fury stated his intention to rest until early 2024, whereas Usyk remained steadfast in his position that the fight should go ahead as initially scheduled.

Fury’s promoter also said after the fight that December 23 was no longer the plan for Usyk vs Fury clash and it was likely to take place in late January or February. ESPN’s Mike Coppinger is now reporting that it will be scheduled to fight in February 2024 now.

Fury has successfully defended his WBC heavyweight title three times after winning it from Deontay Wilder in 2020. Usyk presently holds the IBF, WBA, WBO (super), IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles. He also maintains a professional record of 21 wins, including 14 victories by knockout.
