Ryan Garcia is set to return to the boxing ring later this year after his first-ever career loss.
According to the latest reports, Ryan Garcia will face Oscar Duarte in a junior welterweight bout on December 3, 2023, at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya himself confirmed this match to ESPN on Monday. Garcia’s return match will be available to stream on DAZN.
“Here you have a guy (Duarte) who’s coming off 11 KOs in a row,” said De Le Hoya. “There’s a guy who’s a power puncher who’s going to come forward and make Ryan fight. It’s the proper fight after a knockout loss to Gervonta.”https://t.co/TE3XNmNBhi— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) October 2, 2023
Ryan Garcia is coming off his first-ever career loss against Gervonta Davis in April earlier this year. He was knocked out by the latter in the seventh round of this fight. This loss also broke Garcia’s 24-fight undefeated streak.
On the other hand, Oscar Duarte is having an 11-fight winning streak. Moreover, all these wins came via knockout which makes him a formidable opponent for Garcia.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO also thinks the same and believes that it is a proper fight for both these fighters. Now, it remains to be seen whether Oscar Duarte will have his 12th KO win or will Ryan Garcia return to the winning path when these two collide on December 3, 2023.
