Isaac Cruz(24-2-1) and Giovanni Cabrera(21-0) are set to clash in July 2023 on the undercard of Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford PPV.
Spence-Crawford event is set to take place on July 29, 2023, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The headliner bout will see an undisputed welterweight title superfight between WBA(Super), WBC & IBF Welterweight Champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBO Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford.
The first undercard bout for the expected 4-fight PPV main card is now revealed and will see ranked lightweight competitors Isaac Cruz and Giovanni Cabrera. The bout is actually expected to the co-main event of the night.

Mexico’s Cruz is ranked 5th by IBF, WBO and WBA while being ranked 3rd by WBC in the lightweight rankings. On the other hand, Cabrera is ranked 9th by IBF and WBA, and 11th by WBO while he is not ranked by WBC in the top 15 of the lightweight division.
Cruz suffered the second loss in his career when he got a unanimous decision against Gervonta Davis in December 2021. He returned in April 2022 on the undercard of Spence-Ugas undercard to beat Yuriorkis Gamboa via fifth-round knockout. After this, he knocked out Eduardo Ramirez in second round on Ruiz Jr.-Ortiz undercard.
Carbera was inactive in 2020 and 2021, and returned to action with 3 bouts in 2022. He has unanimous decision wins in all these bouts which were against Rene Tellez Giron, Elias Damian Araujo and Gabriel Flores Jr.
