An Interim WBC Super-Middleweight Title bout is reportedly targeted for later this year.

According to the latest reports, David Benavidez vs Demetrius Andrade is in the works to headline a Showtime card in Fall 2023.

Dan Rafael was the first one to report this news on his Twitter handle. The date and venue for this clash are not confirmed yet, but it is almost confirmed that the bout would take place this year only.

Since Benavidez is currently the rightful owner of the WBC Super-Middleweight Title, the winner of this fight can emerge as the mandatory challenger for the Canelo Alvarez WBC Title.

David Benavidez has been undefeated so far and holds victories over two former World Champions in his last two matches. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Caleb Plan, and before that, he defeated David Lemieux via TKO.

On the other hand, Demetrius Andrade is also undefeated so far. He had vacated the WBO Middleweight Title after five successful defenses due to inactivity. After a fourteen-month break, Andrade returned and defeated Demond Nicholson.

David Benavidez is eyeing a match against Alvarez whereas Demetrius is looking forward to holding a world title again. So, who will win this match?

Stay tuned for more updates on this bout.
