WWE SmackDown May 12, 2023, Match Card & Preview
WWE SmackDown episode of May 12, 2023, will continue the World Heavyweight Championship tournament with AJ Styles, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Boby Lashey, Austin Theory and Sheamus competing to earn a title shot at Night of Champions 2023.
The show will feature the return of Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Moreover, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles against Dakota Kai & Bayley. Cameron Grimes will face Baron Corbin in a singles match and Roman Reigns will make his return to the Island of Relevancy. World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Matches
Seth Rollins qualified for the final of World Heavyweight Championship tournament from RAW side earlier this week. Now, a similar format of two triple-threat matches and a semifinal match will take place on SmackDown also. Two Hall of Famers in the form of Edge & Rey Mysterio along with AJ Styles will clash in the first triple-threat match. The winner of this match will then go on to face the winner of Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, and Sheamus in the semi-finals. So, who will be the one to reach the finals?
Roman Reigns Returns
Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns last WWE appearance came at the Raw After WrestleMania where he was supposed to face Rhodes & Lesnar before the latter destroyed his partner. Earlier this week on RAW, Paul Heyman confirmed that Roman Reigns would be present this Friday at SmackDown. What does the Tribal Chief have to say with his 1000 days as the Universal Champion? Will he also address the cracks in the Bloodline?
Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs Dakota Kai & Bayley
Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and Bayley will challenge Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez for Women’s Tag Team Championship after the latter defeated the champions last week on RAW in a non-title match. Will Damage CTRL be able to beat the champions once again and win the women’s tag team titles?
Cameron Grimes vs Baron Corbin
Last week, Corbin made fun of Cameron Grimes for being the last pick in the WWE draft. Grimes responded by making fun of Corbin and saying it was better not to be picked at all like him. Baron Corbin felt insulted by him and he requested Adam Pearce to book a match against Grimes. Now, this Friday Cameron Grimes will make his SmackDown in-ring debut. Will he be able to win his inaugural main roster match?
