Report: LA Knight Set for Smackdown 9/29, In Line to Face Roman Reigns
LA Knight is reportedly making a quick return from COVID-19, and set to feature on SmackDown this week.
PW Insider is reporting that LA Knight is set to feature on September 29 episode of SmackDown. Knight had to miss last week’s show due to coronavirus, and plans needed to be changed after that related to his tag team match with John Cena.
Knight is reportedly on the way to partner with Cena at Fastlane 2023 PLE to take on the Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. However, with uncertainty around Knight’s status, the match was announced as a handicapped match with Cena vs Solo & Jimmy.

Knight’s involvement with The Bloodline is not expected to stop at Fastlane only. A report suggests that LA Knight is in line to be a future opponent for Roman Reigns as the challenge for Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Dave Meltzer said on the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Knight is being groomed to take on Roman in the future. This has been rumored for some time now with Knight’s rising popularity as one of the company’s most beloved superstars. There’s also a growing sentiment among fans to see LA Knight as a main eventer.
LA Knight has not won a single championship in the main roster but during his time in NXT, he has secured the Million Dollar Championship, a token title.
Roman Reigns’ last title defense was at WWE SummerSlam 2023 PLE where he defeated Jey Uso. In the past few weeks’ episodes of SmackDown, there was a confrontation between Paul Heyman and LA Knight. Heyman was even seen mocking LA Knight’s catchphrase ‘’YEAH’’ during the encounter.
