WWE SmackDown March 22: Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns Segment Set
A face-to-face segment is set between Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for SmackDown March 22, 2024 episode.
Roman is set to defend his title against Cody in the main event of night 2 of WrestleMania 40 on April 7, 2024. However, the build-up for this match is overshadowed by the involvement of the Rock and the tag team match involving all these men and Seth Rollins on night 1.
On RAW March 18 episode, Cody was once again replying to a promo from The Rock that he cut on SmackDown last week where he threatened Cody’s mom to present her with a weight belt with Cody’s blood on it. Cody retorted by saying that his mother is not afraid of the Rock one bit.
Paul Heyman then came out with a message from Roman Reigns. Heyman told Cody that Roman wanted to have a face-to-face with Cody, but has one condition. Roman wanted only Cody and him in the ring for this segment. Cody agreed to it only if the Rest of the Bloodline also stay away from the ring during this.
Heyman assured that it would be the case, and Cody made a deal. Later in the show, Jey Uso and Seth Rollins offered to back up Cody, but Cody assured them that he had got it covered.
WWE SmackDown March 22, 2024 episode will be airing from Fiserv Forum in Milkwaukee, WI. Apart from this segment between Roman and Cody, Rey Mysterio is set to face Santos Escobar in a singles match. The Street Profits will face AOP, and The OC will take on Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in tag team title match qualifier tournament. The announced line-up is as below:
