Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes Announced for WWE WrestleMania 40
Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes match for WWE Universal Championship is announced for WWE WrestleMania 40 event after Kick Off presser ended with The Rock telling Triple H to “fix it”.
WWE hosted a press event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, to promote WrestleMania XL(40) event. Cody Rhodes, men’s Royal Rumble 2024 winner, had a decision to make on who would he face at WrestleMania. Despite it seems like Cody has stepped aside on SmackDown to let The Rock face Roman Reigns for the Universal title, it was not the case.
With World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at the stage, Roman Reigns came out and continued to taunt Cody Rhodes, telling him to go to the loser’s bracket and choose to challenge Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
The Rock then came out and pulled out the Bloodline family tree from the High Chief Peter Mavia to their generation. He then added The Rock vs Roman Reigns is the biggest match in the WrestleMania History. Roman and Rock shook hands on the match.
But then, Cody Rhodes came out and said it was not his choice on who will he face at WrestleMania. Cody revealed that he had chosen to face Roman Reigns. Roman was shocked before Cody continued to tell Roman and Rock that their grandfather would have been ashamed of them for not doing anything for two years and not trying to headline WrestleMania.
The Rock then stepped up to Cody and said when Cody was talking about Roman’s family, he was talking about his family also. Rock added that they have a problem now, and slapped Cody in the face. After all this drama, we were still not clear on who would face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania in the main event. Triple H was backstage for an interview just as the press event was coming to an end. The Rock and Roman Reigns walked by and The Rock told him to fix this situation.
Triple H also told The Rock that he was out of line. The Rock replied that Cody was talking about his family, and that Triple H should fix this situation. As he was walking away, Rock also said that Triple H was lucky to be there. Triple H also said The Rock was lucky too.
After a while Triple H tweeted that the decision has been made and Cody will challenge Roman at WrestleMania 40. Will the Rock be happy with this decision?
Cody failed to beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 last year after interference from outside by The Bloodline member Solo Sikoa.
